Update to yesterday’s fun facts now that we have the storm total data in…Lake Tahoe rose nearly 6 inches over the past 4 days. This is equivalent to 17.3 billion gallons of water and would completely fill Boca Reservoir in addition to half of Prosser Creek Reservoir! – NOAA Reno, NV

Blue Canyon ended up getting 12.13″ of precipitation.

This past week in Tahoe was unreal in many ways.  Big snow, big rain, big avalanches, big stoke, and a mountain range transformed.

Tahoe City, CA and Lake Tahoe itself had some huge precipitation numbers that NOAA thought worth of sharing.

The series of storms that impacted the region over the weekend brought much needed heavy snow and rain. These images compare how the observed snow depth changed from February 6th to February 10th. Two to six feet of snow fell above 7000 feet in the Sierra, providing a much needed boost to the snowpack. At lower elevations across western Nevada, the weekend rainfall melted most of the snow below 6000 feet. – NOAA Reno, NV
