Turoa Ski Field on the North Island of New Zealand is off to a great start this season. They’ve got top to bottom skiing and riding with the Highnoon Express open for the last week. The upper mountain was closed for a couple of days in the last week due to high winds and low visibility, but today totally made up for it with 30 cms of snow in the last 24 hours and clear skies in the afternoon.

Best runs of the day were in the Amphitheater, Mangawhero Gully, Whynot, and all of the groomers were on point. With some more snow in the forecast over the next couple of days, it should shape up to be an amazing week.

Here’s a fun little edit from the Ruapehu Snow Sports crew from last week making the most of only having the Alpine Meadow beginner’s area to work with.
