Utah Mountains Receive First Snow of Winter 2025-26

The Uinta Mountains in Utah received their first snow of the season on September 22, marking the first day of fall. Snow began falling at 10,715′ Bald Mountain Pass on Mirror Lake Highway shortly after 1 p.m., following a period of rain.

A weak weather front moved through northern Utah, bringing lower temperatures and scattered showers. Brighton Resort also recorded its first snow of the season.

This weather shift follows several days of thunderstorms in the region. Long-range forecasts remain uncertain, but early snow indicates the approach of winter in Utah’s high country.
