Vail Resort, CO, began closing lifts No. 10, 22, 24, and 38 on Monday as the season begins to wind down. Lift No. 22, the Mongolia surface lift, had a short run this season as it did not open until the second week of February. The Highline Express, chair No. 10, is the eastern-most lift on the front of Vail Mountain. It is a four-person chairlift servicing black and double black diamond terrain on the Highline, and Blue Ox runs. These runs can still be accessed by guests via chair No. 21 who are exiting China Bowl.

The Wapiti surface lift, No. 24, is no longer available to connect the China Bowl and the top of Highline. It’s recommended guests use Roger’s Run to access chair No. 11, the Northwoods Express, to reach the top of chair No. 10 from China Bowl. Guests who choose Highline or Blue Ox will end up on the eastern end of Vail’s front side and will need to use the Brisk Walk road from the bottom of chair No. 10 to access the mountain via Golden Peak.

Vail typically begins shutting down for the season about two weeks before the end of the year by closing lifts that are accessed from other places. The mountain is set to close on April 18th after Vail Resorts extended the season by a week. The top of chair No. 38, Earl’s Express in Blue Sky Basin, can be accessed from the top Skyline Express, chair No. 37. The top of chair No. 10 can be accessed from the top of chair No. 14.

The Pride Express, chair No. 26, is also an early closer and is located near the western boundary on the front side of the mountain. The top of Pride Express can still be accessed via the top of Eagle Bahn Gondola, No. 19. Chairs 20 and 26 were still running on Monday.
