For the northern hemisphere winter season, Vail Resorts controversially required that all Epic Pass holders needed to make a reservation to ski at their resorts. However, for the upcoming ski season Down Under, that will no longer be the case.

Statements on COVID-19 FAQ pages for Australian ski fields Falls Creek, Perisher, and Mount Hotham, say they do not anticipate guests will need to make reservations:

We do not anticipate 2021 Epic Australia Pass holders will need to make reservations to ski or ride at Hotham this season. However, in the event the resorts need to manage capacity to allow for physical distancing, Vail Resorts may manage access through a reservation system that prioritises pass holders.

A full range of lift tickets, snowsports school, and rental products for the 2021 season at Hotham will be available for purchase from late May.

As winter approaches, further information will be shared about our operating plans.

We can’t wait to welcome you back to Hotham this winter!

All three resorts are scheduled to open on June 12th. Let’s hope this season lasts longer than the last one. Falls Creek and Mount Hotham both opened late, in early July 2021, due to ‘challenging early-season conditions’ last year, then closed just days later as the pandemic took hold of the country.

Epic Pass Australia prices go up on May 11th, so grab your pass now and let the good times roll.
