Vail Resorts CEO just stated that they don’t plan on raising Epic Pass prices despite the addition of Whistler Blackcomb – the largest ski resort in North America – to the Epic Pass in 2017/18.

“Even though Whistler Blackcomb is one of the most impactful offerings that we’ve added to the Epic Pass, we still would absolutely not change our current pricing approach.” -Rob Katz, Vail Resorts CEO, told Traveler.au.com

We estimate that an Epic Pass with Whistler added in 2017/18 will cost $859usd.

“For the full 2016-17 winter season, Whistler Blackcomb will continue to honor the resort’s existing season pass products. Vail Resorts looks forward to integrating Whistler Blackcomb into its Epic Season Pass and other season pass products for the 2017-18 winter season.” – Whistler via statement on August 8th, 2106

Whistler Blackcomb will most likely be removed from the Mountain Collective Pass for 2017/18.

The 2016/17 Epic Pass costs $809 is already insane – providing unlimited access to 13 ski resorts in CA, CO, UT, WI, MN, and MI including unlimited access to:

  • The largest ski resort in the USA (Park City, UT)
  • The largest ski resort in Australia (Perisher)

In 2017/18, the Epic Pass also include unlimited access to:

  • The largest ski resort in Canada (Whistler Blackcomb)

The 2016/17 Epic Pass costs $809 and includes unlimited access to:

  • Vail, CO
  • Beaver Creek, CO
  • Breckenridge, CO
  • Keystone, CO
  • Park City, UT
  • Heavenly, CA
  • Northstar, CA
  • Kirkwood, CA
  • Wilmot, WI
  • Afton Alps, MN
  • Mt. Brighton, MI
  • Perisher, Australia (2017 access)
  • Arapahoe Basin, CO

The 2017/18 Epic Pass will include all of the above PLUS unlimited access to Whistler Blackcomb, the largest ski resort in North America.

According to Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz, the Epic Pass price won’t go up more than the usual annual increase.  We estimate that the 2017/18 Epic Pass will cost $859.

$859 for just a Whistler Pass is a helluva deal considering that a season pass at Whistler now costs $1275usd!!  That’s over $300 off the currently Whistler season pass price plus you get unlimited access to 13 other ski resorts as well.

Epic Pass Prices Over Time:

  • 2012/13 = $679
  • 2013/14 = $689
  • 2014/15 = $729
  • 2015/16 = $769
  • 2016/17 = $809
  • 2017/18 = based on above pricing trends, we estimate $859
