The Epic Pass turns 10 this month and to celebrate, Vail’s offering a $99 Epic Pass for all active and retired military members and their families. This decision came from the fact that Vail Mountain’s founders were both veterans.

“Pete and Earl were about making the mountains more accessible. That was one of their primary drivers. For us, the Epic Pass is about making the mountains more accessible and we feel the right way to pull this all together was to make the mountains more accessible to the military,” stated Vail Resorts CEO  Rob Katz while speaking with the Summit Daily. “It’s the right thing to do to make sure we honor our beginnings.”

The 2018-19 Military Epic Pass is available to all active and retired members of U.S., Canadian, and Australian forces. Along with that, it’s available to their dependents. To cap it off, $1 from every epic pass that’s purchased will be donated to the Wounded Warrior Project.
