Friday was my Mom’s birthday.
She left us in 2023.
We’ve had a difficult weather month here in Valdez this year but on Mom’s birthday, it went blue…

We started early on Friday with Pulseline Adventure.
Legendary guide Jessica Baker was our lead guide on this day and she crushed it.
Powder, steeps, long runs, strong skiers, and good friends.

My old buddy Duane from the Cal Ski Team was here this day and his face was lit up.
We skied from 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. and I was tired by the end.

Everyone in our 10-person pod was a powerful rider.
We left nothing on the table.
We ramped up, climaxed, ramped down, and flew home in evening light as the clouds rolled back in…

I only skied 12 heli-days this month and a few of them were only a couple of runs in the clouds.
Friday was by far the best day of the season and it was kinda neat it fell on Mom’s bday.
