Valle Nevado Resort, Chile, launched the 2022 ski season this past weekend following two years of pandemic-related closure and is looking forward to one of the best seasons of the decade as major snow storms continue to roll through the Andes all through the week. Chile has relaxed its travel restrictions and no longer requires a Covid test to enter the country, and this, along with discounts and a favorable exchange rate, makes 2022 the year to ski the legendary Andes. The season will run until September 28.

Valle Nevado More Economical Than Ever. With a very advantageous peso-dollar exchange rate, discounted low-season rates of up to 20% off, and discounts for Mastercard clients, skiers will find rates that begin at USD $178 p/p per night for packages that include lodging, lift tickets and breakfast and dinner. Valle Nevado is a proud member of the Ikon Pass and the Mountain Collective Pass, offering discounts and lift tickets according to the type of pass. The resort recently partnered with Explora Hotels to offer 20% off combination packages to Explora’s adventure destinations in South America when booked with a Valle Nevado stay.

Celebrating 34 years as Chile’s #1 ski and snowboard destination, Valle Nevado announced dates for events to ring in the 2022 season including the Chilean Wine Festival (August 12-18), Wellness Week(August 5-12), and a rollicking après ski party on July 23 with partner resort Aspen Snowmass. The Wine Festival brings together boutique and well-known wineries for seminars, tastings, and parties; Wellness Week will give pandemic-weary skiers a chance to rest and revitalize with activities including yoga, meditation, relaxation clinics, and Pilates.

Valle Nevado remains the top summer ski-training destination for national and World Cup teams from countries as diverse as Austria, Norway, the USA, and Canada, so you can expect to see some of the most famous faces in the world of skiing and snowboarding at the resort.

Valle Nevado, located just 90 minutes from Santiago, offers access to 7,000 acres of terrain, including 40,000 acres of wild Andean terrain accessed through its world-class heli-ski program. With three hotels, private condominium rentals, six restaurants, shopping, and a fitness & spa center, Valle Nevado offers the most complete ski experience in Chile. Given the resort’s altitude and orientation, Valle Nevado receives more snow on average than any other South American ski resort. An EST time zone and direct flights from most major US hubs make the resort a cinch to get to, and a new, top-of-the-line fleet of rental ski and snowboard gear allows international travelers to leave bulky gear behind.
