Following a historic winter last year, Valle Nevado, Chile, is officially set to open for the 2025 season on June 13, one week earlier than planned. Valle Nevado offers North American skiers and riders a prime opportunity to keep the turns going long after their home mountains close. Located in the Chilean Andes just 90 minutes from Santiago, Valle Nevado is South America’s largest ski resort and a major destination for powder seekers chasing the endless winter. The resort combines high-alpine terrain, modern infrastructure, and a distinctive Chilean flavor—all at 10,000 feet above sea level.

This season, Valle Nevado is offering perks for Ikon Pass, Mountain Collective, and Power Pass holders, making it even easier for multi-resort riders to extend their seasons. While pass benefits vary, they typically include a set number of free or discounted lift tickets. The June opening will kick off several months of winter celebrations, including wine festivals, wellness retreats, and heli-skiing adventures. Families, solo travelers, and global powder chasers alike will find something to suit their pace—from groomed cruisers and challenging off-piste to après scenes with Chilean wine and mountain views.

With snow expected to return soon and reservations already filling up, now is the time for Northern Hemisphere skiers to book their spot. After all, winter never ends—it just changes hemispheres.

Ikon Pass, Mountain Collective, and Power Pass holders receive exclusive hotel discounts ranging from 10–15%, making it easier than ever to extend the winter season south of the equator. Ikon Pass holders also receive special discounts on private ski guide services, adding extra value and adventure to their stay.

U.S. travelers booking a 7-night stay through participating U.S. tour operators will receive one free lift ticket per person to ski at neighboring La Parva. Children 12 and under and adults 75 and older ski for free, with no blackout dates or purchase necessary—part of Valle’s ongoing commitment to accessibility and family travel.

“We encourage guests to book early to lock in the best rates and ensure availability during peak periods,” Ricardo Margulis said, General Manager of Valle Nevado. “There’s nothing quite like skiing in the Southern Hemisphere, where winter arrives just as the Northern Hemisphere heats up. Valle Nevado offers an unmatched combination of pristine snow, dynamic terrain, and warm Chilean hospitality.”

Valle Nevado offers a full slate of winter events that bring energy and excitement to the mountain all season long. From competitions to signature celebrations, these highlights showcase the best of Chilean culture, wellness, and alpine spirit.
