Valle Nevado, Chile, Receives 62” of Snow Over the Past Week & Expands to Nearly 100% Open Terrain

A series of winter storms continues to transform conditions at Valle Nevado, Chile’s premier ski destination, delivering 62 inches of fresh snow over the past week, with additional accumulation expected over the coming 15 days. The recent snowfall has refreshed terrain across the mountain, creating outstanding skiing and riding conditions, with all 13 ski lifts operating, 44 of 45 trails open, and additional snow in the forecast expected to deliver even more fresh powder in the coming days.

Located high in the Chilean Andes just outside Santiago, Valle Nevado offers the largest interconnected skiable terrain in the Southern Hemisphere, combining expansive alpine bowls, high-altitude snow conditions, and stunning mountain scenery.

“This storm cycle has transformed the mountain,” said Dominique Rudloff, Valle Nevado’s General Manager. “The extraordinary snowfall Valle Nevado has received in recent days has created some of the best conditions of the season. With deep snow already covering the mountain and more on the way, there’s never been a better time to experience winter in the Andes.”

With the mountain now fully open, guests can also experience Valle Nevado’s newest dining experience, Suki Nikkei. Located at the base of the resort in Bar Puerta del Sol, the restaurant features Nikkei cuisine, a mix of Peruvian and Japanese flavors, giving guests another exceptional dining option to enjoy after a day on the slopes.
