Conditions Report
Iconic Valle Nevado Ski Resort is currently in the middle of a major winter storm cycle across Chile’s Central Andes, picking up well over 6 feet of snow over the past five days with an additional 3.5 feet forecast over the coming days. As mountain operations allow, the resort is progressively opening lifts and trails. As noted in the update, “Guest safety remains the resort’s highest priority, and additional terrain will open as conditions permit.”
While access roads to the resort have been operating under controlled access since 10:00 a.m. on July 20, strict regional requirements are in place. Only 4×4 vehicles are permitted, and “carrying snow chains is mandatory.” Carabineros de Chile and the Municipality of Lo Barnechea require proper documentation to verify eligibility for anyone heading up the mountain, as access is currently limited to local residents, hotel guests with valid reservations, transport reservation holders, resort employees, and emergency or public service personnel. Unauthorized vehicles or drivers without proper chains will be denied access.
