The Summit at Alpine Meadows, CA is a fun run for expert skiers and a rite of passage for those aspiring to be experts, but it presents a different level of challenge for disabled skiers.

Phil Quintana, a Marine veteran who lost a leg while deployed in Afghanistan, has devoted a lot of his post-military life to being in the mountains because they bring him peace—but he hasn’t completely lost the mission mentality.

This past winter, he made a point of taking on The Summit at Alpine Meadows. Fortunately, he took us along for the ride.

  1. Phil Quintana is a total badass and one of tue most genuinely nice person I have ever met
Had the pleasure to meet him and many other amazing people all wounded vets when volunteering with local High Fives Military to the mountains program through the adaptive skiing program at Alpine Meadows called Achieve Tahoe.
    Amazing programs amazing people.
I suggest everyone who skis or rides get involved in any way.
One of the most inspiring things I have ever seen and most inspiring people ever.
