VIDEO: 4 Storms About To Smother The West In Snow Followed By Colder Weather

According to Meteorologist Chris Tomer, there is an active storm track that consists of 4 potential storms that may dump snow on the western U.S. and make their way up the East Coast to drop some snow there as well.  The weather forecasts are also calling for colder temperatures, which should ensure that this precipitation will fall in the form of snow!

California

Sadly, it looks like California will experience a dry spell over the weekend. They are not in an optimal location for the jet stream to drop snow on them. Thankfully, they received snow overnight and the current conditions are good! So go out there and enjoy some bluebird days.

Pacific Northwest

Over the next 5 days, the forecast is calling for 4 storm systems to hit this area! Chris is forecasting some snowfall each day in the Cascades and across the Volcanoes. Mt. Rainier should be measuring snowfall totals in feet. Thankfully, we won’t need to worry about this snowfall melting away, colder temperatures are forecasted to follow these storms.

Montana, Wyoming, Idaho

These areas are expected to experience a stellar 5 day run! Light to moderate snowfall lingering into Friday is expected. A second snowstorm will move through Idaho to Wyoming and Montana delivering light to moderate snowfall. After that, a stronger system arrives Sunday that has the potential to bring heavy snow accumulations with it. Schweitzer is expected to keep getting the goods. Along with that, Whitefish, Big Sky, Bridger Bowl, Jackson Hole, and Grand Targhee are all in a good spot to get the goods from these storms.

Colorado, Utah

These areas are expected to experience light to moderate snowfall into today. After that, a second storm is expected to arrive on Sunday and continue into Monday. This one should bring moderate to heavy snow accumulations. Snowbasin, Park City, Snowbird, Alta, Steamboat, Snowmass, Vail, Winter Park, and Loveland are all in a good positions to get the goods.

“The West is best. On Friday I would ski opening day at Schweitzer, Jackson Hole on Saturday, Big Sky on Sunday and Steamboat on Monday,” stated Chris Tomer regarding where to ski this weekend!
