Are these the five steepest ski areas in North America?
After reading about mediocre resorts making the top 50 list every year in Ski Magazine, I decided to put together my own lists of ski areas. You may not agree with my lists, and I encourage you to include your favorites with your justification in the comments below.
In no particular order…
- Big Sky, MT
- Taos Ski Valley, NM
- Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, WY
- Snowbird, UT
- Alta, UT
Finally a list I’d agree with !
Revelstoke and Kicking Horse
Yes, definitely time to visit Kicking Horse Mountain in BC.
Kicking horse is missingโฆ..
As an advanced but not by any means an expert or extreme skier I wish Alta differentiated between what they would consider blacks and what they would consider double black.
My experience is admittedly *mostly* in the American Rockies, but even under that criteria, Snowbird and Alta aren’t in the top 5 steepest.
Time to visit Kicking Horse, Matt.
Alta ain’t that steep at all. It’s really just an over-hyped bunnyhill.
Not the worst video, but in the beginning he shows the list of places he’s skied and he hasn’t skied at nearly enough places…
