Triple Storm Setup Promises Powder Potential Across the West

A major pattern shift is underway across the western mountains — and it’s finally good news for skiers and riders. Three storm systems are lining up to deliver waves of snow from the Pacific Northwest through the northern Rockies, with colder air dropping snow levels fast. The first system is already bringing moisture into the Cascades and Sierra, setting the stage for a string of powder-producing days.

By midweek, expect the snowline to drop significantly, opening up lower-elevation terrain for fresh turns. High winds could briefly impact lift operations in parts of Colorado and Wyoming, so plan accordingly — but behind those gusts comes quality snow and solid accumulations for many high-elevation resorts. Northern Utah skiers can finally expect some long-awaited refreshes, with even better conditions building into the weekend and beyond.

And for those dreaming of a white Christmas? The long-range outlook indicates colder air lingering and another round of snow just in time for the holidays. Watch the full forecast video to see which mountains are in for the deepest totals.
