VIDEO: Lake Oroville Emergency Spillway May Fail With Increasing Water Flow

Chris Wallner |

Water levels are increasing and there’s rain in the forecast, so water flow is expected to increase in the Lake Oroville Emergency Spillway. A hole in the spillway has increased the risk of flash floods, which has prompted an evacuation of thousands of people below the dam. The entire structural integrity of the emergency spillway is currently at risk and that has us on edge. There isn’t much that can be done at the current moment due to the sheer amount of water that is in the spillway, but evacuations should keep the people below the dam safe.

  1. Awwww dont like a little criticism of your journalistic skillz? Update your post to accurately reflect the situation.

  2. Entire structural integrity of the dam is currently at risk? Stop with the sensationalist reporting and get some facts before you spout off. Its garbage like this that panics the F out of people. Only the aux spillway is in any danger of failure and even that is debatable at this point. Good video though.
