Jackson Hole Mountain Resort proudly commemorates its 60th anniversary with the release of the captivating video “Layers of Time,” a tribute to the legendary mountain terrain and the pioneering spirit that shaped one of North America’s most iconic ski destinations.
Opening its lifts in December 1965, Jackson Hole, Wyoming, was conceived with a bold vision to provide skiers access to the Tetons’ rugged, awe-inspiring terrain, a landscape forged over nearly three billion years by tectonic forces, glacial carving, and active fault lines. The video chronicles not just the history of the resort, but the astonishing geology beneath it, from the ancient marine sediments and oceanic layers to the resilient metamorphic and igneous rocks that define the mountain’s unique character.
