Loveland Ski Area, CO opened for the season on Thursday, November 10th, 2016 and it looked sweet. Loveland and Arapahoe Basin are the only two ski resorts currently open in Colorado. It’s been a tough season so far, but Loveland has made the most of the warm temperatures and lack of snowfall that they have experienced so far.

Loveland Ski Area has had a few good nights of snowmaking lately with temps consistently dropping into the mid 20’s, which should allow them to open up some new terrain in the near future. Despite the lack of precipitation and warm temperatures that they have experienced lately, it looks like things may turn around for Colorado with the possibility of precipitation in the extended forecast. We are hoping for some help from Mother Nature, such as cooler temperatures and consistent temperatures below freezing to get the season going. Either way though, Loveland had a SICK opening day and it’s good to see another resort open in Colorado.
