VIDEO: Mid-Winter Whistler, B.C. Update:

SnowBrains |

words and video by Peter Wentz

This winter has been rough so far for the Whistler area.  With low snow and storms far and few in between, we have spent these early months of winter trying to chase the powder from Revelstoke to Baker.  Although it always hasn’t been a success it is always an adventure.  Scoping new zones, seeing different snowpacks, and working in a group dynamic always makes things interesting.

This edit is mainly from the Whistler / Pemberton area, riding resort and sled access skiing.  This current storm rolling through is definitely going to freshen things up though, with 35cm last night and another 20cm forecasted throughout tonight and tomorrow.  It finally seems like Whistler will be getting back to normal with more pow coming! See the snow forecast here.

As the storms come through, look forward to more UBC Freeride edits dropping.  We have a lot planned for the rest of the winter, including the a sled Revelstoke and Whistler edit, the Bralorne Backcountry Picnic, some park edits, along with other tom foolery.  So stay tuned in and go check us out at https://www.facebook.com/UbcFreeride and http://ubcfreeride.com/  where we post updates on projects, edits, and whatever else is going on!
