Losing the majority of his left leg in a motorcycle accident three years ago hasn’t stopped adaptive skier Patrick Daniel Halgren  shredding harder than the majority of the rest of us. Check out this sweet video of him absolutely nailing his line.
The North Face Frontier People’s Choice Award goes to the Adaptive Skier and general all-time legend of the USA who absolutely blew the audience away by skiing the tricky and expert venue on his one leg taking massive airs with ease. As he said, “I’m Peking like a Chinese Duck man!”
His dream is to represent the US ski team in the Paralympics and he has set up a GoFundMe to raise funds to allow him to continue training and to start competing nationally as an alpine adaptive ski racer.
I will still remain self-supported and will rely on my own funds for all travel, race costs, and all FIS certified equipment. Skiing is a very expensive hobby for most, and while I’ve been chasing the snow working at resorts for a staff pass I am fighting an uphill battle with little training and coaching myself. I will be using the funds I raise directly to compete at the top international level and earn my spot on the 2018 USA Paralympic ski team.
