It’s getting crazy out there down in Australia (Oz).

An electrical snowstorm just closed Mt. Hotham and the access road to Hotham has been closed.

“Due to inbound electrical snow storms to Mount Hotham, all chair lifts have closed for the day as a safety precaution to resort guests.” – Hotham, today

 

“The Great Alpine Road from Harrietville to the Mount Hotham Ski Resort is currently closed in both directions due to snow and extreme weather conditions. It is not likely to open until tomorrow. Motorists can still reach Hotham from Omeo. Please take care and drive to the conditions ” – Victoria Police, today

Snow totals have gotten as high as 50cm (20″) at Falls Creek and their access road was closed for a while today.

“With all this wild weather and amazing snowfall Bogong High Plains Rd has been closed, and estimated to reopen 6:30pm. Please do not attempt to travel alone and remain indoors. Upon reopening, transport will be done via Police convoy. Falls Creek Coaches service station will extend opening hours until 8:00 – 8:30pm for fuel fill ups.” – Falls Creek, today
