On Sunday night/Monday morning Pomerelle Mountain Resort, ID, got its first snow of the 23/24 season. The ski resort, at 8,000 feet in the Albion Mountains, celebrated as the flakes started to drop at around 1:30 am.
Unfortunately, the dusting was not more than the 0.5 inches required to be classed as accumulating snowfall. According to the NWS, the earliest recorded date of accumulating snowfall at Pomerelle is October 23rd.
Last week Breckenridge, CO, received its first dusting of the 23/24 season, reminding us all that ski season is less than 100 days away.
