The first snow of the 2025-26 season fell at Utah’s Snowbird resort on September 30, starting the transition from autumn to winter in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
While only a few flakes, it was enough to dust the upper reaches of the mountain around the Mineral Basin chairlift and tram terminus.
The resort is set to open for the season on November 27.
The early snow follows a period of mixed weather, with lower elevations experiencing rain showers and thunderstorms.
Ski season in Utah is just 37 days away. Confirmed opening dates are below:
- Alta: Friday, November 21
- Brian Head: Friday, November 7
- Deer Valley, Monday, December 1
- Snowbasin: Thursday, November 27
- Snowbird: Thursday, November 27
- Solitude: Friday, November 14
Let it snow!
