On Sunday, June 21, Thredbo Resort in Australia successfully opened for the 2020 winter season.

Currently, two out of the resort’s 14 lifts are spinning.

Thredbo has yet to announce a closing date, but on good snow years, the resort keeps lifts open until October.

Social distancing guidelines are in place at the ski area as resort staff are limiting the number of individuals permitted on lifts at one time.

Thredbo Resort said in an Instagram post

“There’s fresh snow in the forecast + great snowmaking conditions over the next couple days 💪❄️ We’re planning to open more terrain real soon…stay tuned 👍.”
