This post is mostly a friendly reminder that as skiers and riders, we need to keep avalanches on the forefront of our minds.
This is a great time of year to start planning on when you’ll be taking your next avalanche classes in 2015/16.
If you’ve never taken an avalanche class, we highly recommend taking your Avy 1, even if you never go out of bounds. Avalanches happen in bounds every year and as a skier or rider, you should know how to respond.
Most of us will never get caught in an avalanche, but we need to learn as much about them as possible to avoid them and know how to respond to them if they do happen.
