Welcome to the Blue Room. | Skiing Colored Snow

SnowBrains |

We’ve all seen photos of people ripping powder and it’s cool, but it’s been done.  The boys at Mammut came up with a brilliant idea recently:  throwing colored pigments on snow and taking photographs of skiers charging through it.  The images and video will change how you see snow.

These guys used fire extinguishers filled with colored pigment to ‘color’ the snow before ripping into it.

“Why does snow always need to be white? Nicolas and Loris Falquet, brothers and Mammut pro freeriders, turned a fundamental winter concept on its head. Together with the photographer Jeremy Bernard, countless colored pigments and a futuristic atomizer, they achieved a rare feat: ski images unlike any the world has ever seen.” – MAMMUT

  1. Oh cool toxic dust on snow. That’s good for spring snowpack and normal runoff and water quality. Thanks mammut
