black park
The Blackcomb Park was in great condition the last few days and riders were getting after it.

For family weekend Whistler brought us about 2ft of delicious powder on Saturday and then warmed things up to spring like skiing conditions by Monday.  Over the last few days we kind of had every good skiing condition there is, from awesome pow, to cold skied out snow, to soft sun baked slush.

t bar
T-Bar laps were actually really good and had some fun little hits in it.

For the past two days I have stuck to the sunny runs and found the snow to be very fun to slarve around in.  7th Heaven, the T-bar near Peak chair, Peak to Creek, and Blackcomb Park were all awesome places to be.  I had a good time hitting slushy side hits and enjoying the sun while it was around.  Areas in the shade were mainly hard and somewhat icy, but still manageable to ride to get to other areas of the mountain.

peak chair
Peak Chair was pretty fun in the sunny sections but hard in the shade.

On Monday there was some avalanche activity on a lot of the slopes directly facing the sun.  There was a natural slide in the permanent closure above Lakeside Bowl near 7th Heaven along with a large slide on the south side of Mount Currie.  We can expect some loose wet slides, and possible cornice falls with this warm weather and possible heavy snow or rain in the forecast.

currie slide
A large wet slide on Currie was easily visible from Blackcomb.
