Whistler has seen another storm roll through.  This most recent storm in Whistler came in a bit warmer than others we have seen this winter however it still left us with 32cm over the last 48 hours.  This new snow had a variable freezing level on the mountain, however I would say anything we road above the bottom of Emerald Chair on Whistler had some good wet powder.  I thought the chopped up snow was more fun to ski than the untracked snow today because you could gain some speed and more flow in the run.

Some soft tracked out runs going towards Harmony area today.

Not too many people were out on the hill today (Friday) as many were scared off by the thought of rain.  This allowed me to go to some fairly common areas that were still untracked and deep into the afternoon.  I went and poked my head around International trees and some of the pillows were still in good shape. One of my best runs of the day was just following Red Chair line, especially the lower half of it.

The big thing about this most recent storm is that they did not open up the alpine lifts on Whistler and Blackcomb on Friday, and should be good to go for the weekend.  The alpine has just been getting hit with snow and should be really deep.  Definitely should be a wild weekend as I would not be surprised to see people hucking Jordan or other big hits. Have fun out there!
