Whistler, B.C. Surpasses Their Average Annual Snowfall Total: 465″ and Counting…

Whistler averages 458″ of snowfall per year.  They’ve now gotten 465″ of snowfall this winter.  So much for those dry Strong El Nino predictions…

All this new snow has lead Whistler to extend their season until May 30th.

“While it continues to snow up on the mountains, some signs of spring are peeking through providing some beautiful blue bird skies today. We have received 3cm of new snow in the last 24 hours and 15cm/6in in the last 48 hours making great alpine conditions. We have now surpassed our annual average snowfall with a whopping 1,180cm/465in of snow this season, allowing us to extend our season to May 30th.” – Whistler Blackcomb, today
