Whistler Blackcomb, located in British Columbia, Canada, has recently revealed its spring operations plans. Blackcomb Mountain will remain open until the last day of the season, May 24, while Whistler Mountain is set to close on April 18. Spring hours will be from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The Excalibur Gondola will continue to run, providing access to the main village, upper village, and base II. The Blackcomb day parking lots will all be open offering free parking. Whistler Blackcomb reminds guests that Public Health Orders are still in place and urge them to follow the rules. There has been a change in rules that allows guests to gather in groups of up to ten, allowing for family and a few friends. Masks and physical distancing are still in place on the mountain.

The 4 p.m. closure is strict and is in place for everyone’s safety because the mountain becomes an industrial worksite after hours. Uphill routes have been established for backcountry travelers. In other recent knew, Vail Resorts has announced they will not have a reservation system next season. They are implementing new strategies to materially reduced wait times. Vail has also doubled its staff of customer service representatives and plan to quadruple their staff by May. Vail Resorts CEO Rob Katz yesterday stunned the industry when he announced they are slashing the prices of their Epic Pass products by 20%.
