Whistler Blackcomb is in full on spring mode. With an awesome park setup and 5 star corn to go and harvest, it is hard to go wrong with spring in Whistler. This weekend was especially sunny making the skiing that much more fun.
We started the day off with some Spankey’s laps which were the smoothest spring skiing I have had in a while. With almost perfect corn, slush, powder smooth snow it was hard to want to change it up. We eventually ventured to the Couloir Extreme and found similarly fantastic snow. At the end of the day we decided to have some quick laps and rode the front side of Glacier chair which has a lot of fun hits in it, as well as a few runs through the park.
A couple things to keep in mind if you are heading up to Whistler sometime in May; remember to wear some sunscreen, warm wax your board so you don’t get stuck on the cat tracks, transfer your pass from your ski jacket to flannel you are wearing that day, and enjoy the slush. Whistler is in Spring operations and is opening at 10am, and also Glacier chair is mostly running just on the weekends now. Enjoy the sun!
