Wildfire Threatens White Pass Ski Area, WA

White Pass Ski Area in Washington is under threat from a wildfire that broke out 5-miles from White Pass summit on Monday.

Currently at around 100-acres and 0% contained, it is hoped the Cold Creek Fire will be fully contained by Saturday.

US 12 over White Pass is closed on both sides and the fire is burning on both sides of the highway.

According to the Yakima Valley Emergency Management Facebook page, Level 2 “Be Set” Evacuation Notices are in effect due to the Cold Creek Fire. The fire is located along the area of US 12 between Dog Lake and Clear Lake. The evacuation notice encompasses areas around Clear Lake and Rimrock Lake, including areas on both sides of US 12.
