VIDEO: Wildfire Burns 229 Acres and a Residential Home Near Meeker, CO

It’s fire season again in Colorado. A large wildfire has burned 229 acres of land and a trailer house in Lion’s Canyon approximately 3 miles west from the town of Meeker, Colorado in Rio Blanco County, 9 News reports. The fire was reported around 1:30 p.m. Tuesday. Meeker Volunteer Fire responded along with the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and the Colorado Division of Fire Prevention and Control units. Meeker is about 230 driving miles west of Denver.

At this time no injuries have been reported. A day before the fire, the National Weather Service warned of a high fire risk related to high winds in the area, low relative humidities, and dry fuels, OutThere Colorado reports.
