Yesterday, I had the opportunity to sit down with White Wolf owner Troy Caldwell.  White Wolf is the fabled area between Squaw Valley & Alpine Meadows that is the key to connecting the two ski resorts.  If and when they connect, Squaw/Alpine will be the largest ski resort in the USA at around 7,000 acres of inbounds, skiable terrain.

Troy was nice enough to invite us over to his gorgeous property yesterday and give us an insider’s perspective into what is currently happening with the Squaw/Alpine connect.

Troy has a vision and he’s determined to see it through.

The interview with Troy was fascinating, great information was dug up, and more than a just a few smiles were had.

We know how much White Wolf and the potential connection of Squaw and Alpine means to this community, and we’re excited to help us all learn more about that process.

This was our first video interview of many.  Next week, we’ll be interviewing Robb Gaffney and Tom Day to learn more about the Incorporate Olympic Valley movement and their ideas for the future of Squaw Valley.

  1. The existing White Wolf Chair looks like a lonely line of towers without the haul line or shivs and I don’t see any place to sit… when will Troy put the rest of it together and run that thing? Who wouldn’t love to see that chair spinning in a powder cycle with ski tracks leading back to Alpine?

  2. ,,,,,the ongoing saga continues, troy had his shot to work w/ksl to make white wolf operational, wanted too much, wouldn’t hold my breath….
