La Grave, France has two lift, a pulse gondola, and a short rope tow.  You get dropped off at 11,647 feet.  From there you have a 7,500 vertical foot run below you.  There are no groomers, no signs, no B.S.  You either either get back in the gondola or ski down.

Every aspiring ski mountaineer dreams of traveling to Europe to hone their skills in the Alps and now is your chance to do it for free. In association with GORE-TEX, Freeskier is bringing one lucky winner on an all-expenses-paid, trip of a lifetime to the French Alps where they will take part, with an editor, in the GORE-TEX Experience Tour Freeski Mountaineering Camp. This three-day camp will take place in La Grave, France, March 28-30, 2014, and will provide theoretical and practical training in ski mountaineering with world-class athletes. In addition, the winner will also take home a Norrona GORE-TEX Pro jacket and will be able to try out a variety of GORE-TEX Pro products during the trip.

Now that you’re fully salivating over this free trip, here’s the easy way to get yourself entered. Round up a photo, or better yet, a video of yourself freeskiing and tell us a little bit about yourself. What inspires you to get out and explore the mountains and why are you deserving of this trip? Applicants need not be well versed in ski mountaineering but must be strong skiers with at least some knowledge of rope use.
