Just when you thought winter was over in California, it makes its way back. The National Weather Service has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for the state. It’s in effect Today – Thursday Morning. Snow is expected to fall at lake level and below, but the heaviest snowfall totals are expected to occur in the mountains.

6-12″ of Snow Above 7,000ft Today – Thursday Morning.

Snow levels are forecasted to hover between 5,000ft & 6,500ft on Wednesday, and drop all the way down to 3,000ft on Thursday.

Including the cities of South Lake Tahoe, Truckee, Stateline,
and Incline Village

...WINTER WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 5 PM THIS AFTERNOON TO
9 AM PDT THURSDAY...

* WHAT...Snow expected. Total snow accumulations of 3 to 7
  inches, with 6 to 12 inches above 7000 feet, are expected.

* WHERE...Greater Lake Tahoe Area.

* WHEN...From 5 PM this afternoon to 9 AM PDT Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... Gusty winds of 15 to 25 mph with gusts up
  to 45 mph will cause choppy conditions on Lake Tahoe through the
  evening. Plan on slippery road conditions, including during the
  evening and morning commutes. Be prepared for reduced
  visibilities at times and travel delays over the passes.
