The forecast is positive too, with the snow expected to continue throughout the weekend, with the potential for up to 2-feet of snow in total.
The Stubai glacier in Austria, who are expecting to start their 10-month season later this month, reported 4″ of fresh snow. So far.

As the weekend progresses, lower elevations could also see snowfall, including many ski resorts.
Last season didn’t end too well, with many glacial resorts closing earlier than expected due to warm temperatures and lack of snow. Although snow in September, and even August, is nothing unusual in the Alps, let’s hope this decent start is a sign of things to come.
