Woman Severely Injured After 600-Foot Fall While Backcountry Skiing Near Bozeman, MT Yesterday

A 23-year-old woman has been rescued and hospitalized after falling 600-feet while backcountry skiing near Bozeman, MT yesterday.

The woman reportedly received neck, ankle, and arm fractures in the fall.

Gallatin County Sheriff Brian Gootkin reports that it took rescuers 3 hours to extract the injured woman.  Rescuers reached her on foot then moved and prepared her for helicopter extraction.

 

The woman was reportedly skiing “The Great One” chute off Naya Nuki Peak in the northern Bridger Range just north of Bozeman, MT.
