The Women’s 2025-26 FIS Alpine World Cup Calendar

A total of 38 events are scheduled in the 2025-26 FIS Alpine women’s calendar. Of those events, 21 are tech events (11 Giant Slalom and 10 Slalom) and 17 are speed events (9 Downhill and 8 Super-G). This number includes the World Cup Finals in Lillehammer, Norway. The women’s calendar remains the same as the preliminary calendar, however the men’s calendar saw some changes to the number of speed events after complaints from speed athletes.

The highlight of the 2025-26 season will naturally be the Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina, Italy, from February 6-22. The World Cup athletes will be battling it out for starting spots until the January 18, 2026, deadline, on which the final points list will be based. The FIS points list is calculated by taking the average of the five best tech events and two best speed events. That means the women will have until the race weekend in Tarvisio, Italy, to earn sufficient points to qualify for the Olympics. However, each nation can only send four women per event and 11 alpine skiers in total, so competition will be fierce for those spots.

One of the biggest differences this season is that there will be additional weekends with women’s and men’s races on the same weekend, rather than on separate weekends. There are now five weekends with men’s and women’s races: Sölden, Levi, Gurgl, Copper Mountain, and Crans Montana will have ‘mixed’ weekends. Naturally, the World Cup Finals in Lillehammer, Norway, will as always be held concurrently for men and women, as are the Olympics. Lillehammer was home to the 1994 Winter Olympics.

Another change has been that the women will only travel once to North America in late November/early December, before returning to Europe for the remainder of the racing season.

As tradition has it, the World Cup season opener will be held in Sölden, Austria, on October 25 with a Giant Slalom race (followed by the men’s the following day). The speed women will have to wait almost two more months until the speed opening in St. Moritz, Switzerland.
