POWDR is set to open the first year-round action sports resort in the country this winter, called Woodward Park City, at Park City, UT. The resort will boast state-of-the-art indoor and outdoor venues for snowboarding, skiing, mountain biking, skateboarding, tubing, BMX, parkour, and trampolining.
The 66,000-square-foot Action Sports Hub will feature 35,000-square-feet of action sports space, including a concrete park designed by CA skate parks, an “acro zone” with a tumble track and spring floor, seven trampolines, a pump track for indoor freestyle skiing and riding, a foam pit, a parkour course, and several stunt airbags. The hub will also have a number of guest services and a digital media center.
In the winter, the Mountain Park will provide tubing and lift access to a network of terrain parks including a half-pipe, a Woodward Peace Park, and multiple progression and performance parks. In the summer, the outdoor space will service downhill mountain bikers with a trail system by Alpine Bike Parks, skaters with two CA Skate Parks-designed plazas, and BMX riders and parkour enthusiasts with the Outpost, an area outfitted with a BMX track and outdoor parkour structures.
Woodward Park City is looking to serve everyone from professional athletes to families.
“Our progression-based facilities enable visitors of all skill levels to learn and achieve their goals in a dedicated environment,” says general manager Shaydar Edelmann.
Guests can purchase day passes or monthly memberships (at an introductory rate of $100 per month), and the facility will also cater to training groups and teams.
The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 27, with a grand opening party set for Dec. 14.
