Squaw Valley’s legendary KT-22’s snow is burning off fast.  It’s 56F at the bottom of Squaw right now and you can hear the creeks flowing.  The rain comin’ it ain’t gonna help…

We think patrol is having a hard time figuring out how they’ll keep KT open thru the weekend.

Our best sources are telling us that KT-22 and likely the entire lower mountain will close this weekend.  This is definitely a key weekend to get up to Squaw and get your last shot at skiing the entire mountain.  It’s time to get up to Squaw, make your peace with KT and the 2013 winter, buy a beer for a friend at Chamoix, and walk away from lucky number winter ’13 with a solid feeling.

We’re hoping that Squaw will stay open until April 28th, but it’s starting to look like it will be closed by April 21st.  Can’t really blame anyone here.  Mother nature has spoken.  She’s ready for her summer skirt.

That said, the upper mountain is still lookin’ good.  There’s plenty of snow up top and the parks are still holding up well.  Spring time park sessions to the pool and hot tub won’t hurt your feelings.
