It’s been non-stop down here at Cerro Catedral in Bariloche, Argentina.
11 of the past 12 days have been powder days.
Today was no exception. ย It must have snowed a foot or two last night up high and the conditions were delicious. ย Deliciously soft & smooth wind blown powder.
The wind was ripping today. ย They were able to get the Punta Nevada quad open for a couple of hours before the wind took over.
Before it closed we were able to grab two hiking laps up Nubes and they were excellent. ย The hike up Nubes was a wild ride in winds that must have been gusting at or above 50mph (see video below).
After they shut down the upper mountain we cruised a couple of laps on the Condor 2 T-bar and the snow was crunchy and weird and surprisingly fun.
Before we left, it was snowing hard at the base.
The forecast right now is showing 50″ of snow in the next 6 days here…
Any idea why Nubes had been closed for so long?
Can’t wait for the write up on today’s session!
Cheers
