Copper Mountain opened for the season on Friday, November 18th, 2016 and it was full of fresh snow and smiles! After Mother Nature pushed their opening day back, Copper Mountain took advantage of any opportunity to make snow and it showed! Warm temperatures and a lack of snowfall persisted throughout the beginning of winter, but it finally gave way. They experienced a good stretch of cold temperatures and even got 6″ of fresh snow for opening day!
“Welcome to the 2016-2017 Copper Mountain Resort Ski Season! After a warm fall and nice sunny skies, winter finally arrived just in time for opening day! 6″ of Fresh Colorado Powder has fallen on our mountain in the last 24 hours, with 1″ overnight. The Copper Mountain team has been hard at work preparing some great skiing and riding terrain. Today will be chilly with clearing skies and the sun should grace us on a classic Blue-Bird day in the high country, dress warm and wear sunscreen. Have a Great Day,” Copper Mountain stated regarding Opening Day details!
