I just called up Griffin Post (TGR Athlete) to get the latest on this. ย Jackson Hole will be opening the tram tomorrow and you will be able to ski and ride from the tram.
โI imagine there will be a lot of people lining up for 1st tram tomorrow.โ – Griffin Post
โMost people will ski down, then hike back up to the tram. ย You canโt ski all the way to the bottom like you could a couple years ago [May 2011].โ – Griffin Post
In reality, there is kind of another ski resort open in North America right now. ย And just look at the photo above taken today at noon. ย Thereโs snow up there, humans…
JACKSON HOLE TRAM FACTS:
– Access over 2,500 acres of in-bounds terrain and over 3,000 acres of backcountry terrain that receives an average of 475โณ of snow.ย
– The tram rises 4,139 feet and travels over two miles.
– The tram can operate in winds of up to 60mph.
–ย Hourly skier capacity of 650, ascends at 10m/s and takes 9 minutes.
–ย ย Itโs generally only closed from closing day until Memorial Day Weekend and from the beginning of October until opening day.
If you live in Jackson, youโve got one more chance to get out there and ski or ride the tram this season. ย There is certainly still snow and you definitely wonโt regret one more tramicopter lap.
