NOAA continues to track a cold Gulf of Alaska Storm that will impact California early next week.ย This will be the 4th Gulf of Alaska Storm in a row to hit California in the past month.
This cold storm is forecast to begin in CA on Monday night and bring snow levels as low as 2,000-feet, which would be our lowest snow levels of the season thus far.ย The heaviest precipitation will come down on Tuesday morning.ย The storm is forecast to exist the area on Wednesday night.
At this point, NOAA is calling for 4-12″ of snow to fall in the mountains of California.
We’re hoping these numbers don’t get downgraded. The below liquid precipitation forecast map is showing only 0.5″ of liquid in the next 7 days in Tahoe, which would translate to 6″ of snow.
