18-year-old Nico Monforte is a local North Tahoe high school graduate who happens to be a valedictorian and first year USA Ski Cross athlete. The kid is a brain & ski ninja. Every time I ski with him at Squaw he’s skiing too fast, going too big, and making me look bad. Please come out to Fireside Pizza in Squaw Valley on Thursday, November 21st and support this great kid as he gets ready to compete against the best in the world and beat them.

Nico is a Squaw local who needs your help chasing his Olympic dreams on the 2014 World Cup Skicross tour! Nico was born and raised in Squaw Valley and has been a member of the Squaw Valley ski team since the age of four. After a successful junior alpine career Nico switch his focus to skicross during the 2012 season and now finds himself on the big stage.
Although Nico is a Worldcup qualified athlete, skicross is not a supported sport of the United States Ski Association (USSA). Therefore he is reaching out to the community to help fund his 2014 season -expenses include travel costs, equipment, training, entries and accommodations. Come enjoy some great food and kick off winter right!
