NOAA has issued a Winter Weather Advisory for Wyoming that is calling for 5-10″ of snowfall in Wyoming last night and today. ย This Winter Weather Advisory expires today at 3pm.
4 Roads are temporarily closed in Yellowstone National Park due to snow and ice on the roadways. Visitors are being asked to stay put and not attempt driving the roads.
Roads Closed in Yellowstone National Park:
- East Entrance to Fishing Bridge
- Grand Loop Rd, Upper Terrace Loop Drive to Norris Junction
- Grand Loop Rd, Tower Fall to Canyon Village
- Grand Loop Rd, Old Faithful Ranger Station to West Thumb
Beartooth Pass (US-212) is also closed due to snow today and has been closed due to snow since September 15th, 2017.

Wyoming above 8500 feet tonight through Tuesday evening...
.A cold wet pacific low pressure trough will bring snowfall
to the western and northern mountains of wyoming this evening.
The heavier snowfall is expected above 8500 feet where 5 to
10 inches of snow can be expected through 9 pm mdt Tuesday
evening. Strong gusty west winds are also expected on the
passes and higher ridges. Snowfall from 8500 to 7500 feet
is expected to be from 3 to 5 inches.

9 PM MDT TUESDAY...
The National Weather Service in Riverton has issued a Winter
Weather Advisory for snow, which is in effect from 9 PM this
evening to 9 PM MDT Tuesday.
* TIMING...Snow will develop across the Teton and Gros Ventre
mountains becoming widespread around 9 pm mdt. Periods of wet
snow will bring accumulations of 5 to 10 inches above 8500 feet
with snow accumulations of 3 to 5 inches from 8500 to 7500 feet.
Snowfall will taper off by 9 pm mdt Tuesday evening. Strong
gusty west winds are also expected on the passes and higher
ridges.
* MAIN IMPACT...Snow and wind may make travel difficult above 8500
feet.
* OTHER IMPACTS...Campers and hunters should be prepared for cold
snowy and windy conditions.
