Report from January 10, 2025

On Monday I rolled into Little Cottonwood Canyon without skins…

I realized it when I parked to meet up with my backcountry buddies.

Fortunately, a friend at Alta borrowed me some skins.

At this point, my backcountry buddies had already dove in so I pulled an audible and hiked up Suicide Chute on Mt. Superior.

Before I left Alta, I’d gotten word that Main Chute on Mt. Baldy was gonna open for the first time of the season.

I love that chute…

I made a plan to ski both.

I ran over and got a very fun lap in on Mt. Superior and was able to ski the chute in under 60-seconds due to the great snow in there.

I was the 3rd one in.

Back at my car I popped over to Alta and grabbed the last spot in the main parking lot.

Lucky!

I rode 2 lifts and booted up Mt. Baldy and drank in the views.

Main Chute was chalky up top, the softer and bumped up.

I enjoyed chatting with the kind folks up top.

The run was a workout with all the moguls and very rewarding.

One of the beset inbounds runs anywhere.

Ski day #82 this season.
