Arizona Snowbowl Cuts Weekday Prices in Half

Flagstaff, Ariz. โ€“ (January 14, 2025) โ€“ย Arizona Snowbowl is taking bold steps to reduce cost barriers and make skiing and snowboarding more accessible. By cutting weekday prices, introducing innovative programs, and unveiling new beginner terrain, the resort is redefining how newcomers and families experience skiing.

New this season, Arizona Snowbowlโ€™s weekday promotions offer savings of more than 50 percent off weekend rates. Until February 27, guests who visit Monday through Thursday enjoy half-price lessons and rentals, plus receive a $10 resort credit with a lift ticket.

Highlights include:

  • Lift Tickets:ย Starting at $19, with kids 12 and under skiing free all seasonโ€”no blackout dates or purchase required.
  • Half Price Lessons:ย Group lessons start at $29, and private lessons as low as $129.
  • Half Price Rentals:ย $27 for adults and $16 for kids.
  • $10 Bowl Bucks:ย Guests who purchase lift tickets in advance for Monday through Thursday receive a $10 resort credit for dining, rentals, lessons, or retail.

In January last year,ย Arizona Snowbowl became the first ski resort to charge over $300 for a lift ticket. The resort uses dynamic pricing, a tiered system that determines the price of lift tickets based on demand. Fast-forward to April and tickets were selling for less than $20. Midweek prices are typically $19 per day, making it one of the cheapest lift tickets in the United States, significantly lower than last January.

Arizona Snowbowlโ€™s demand-based pricing isnโ€™t just about saving money; itโ€™s about enhancing the overall experience. By encouraging weekday visits, the resort is working to manage the flow of visitors on the mountain, creating a more enjoyable, stress-free atmosphere for skiers and snowboarders of all levels.

โ€œThese programs are designed to make skiing and snowboarding more accessible for everyone,โ€ said the marketing manager, Angie Grubb, Arizona Snowbowl. โ€œWeโ€™re committed to giving people the freedom to ski by addressing costs and creating a welcoming environment for families and first-timers.โ€

Family Fridays at Arizona Snowbowl allow families and newcomers to learn to ski and snowboard. From 2 to 5 p.m. every Friday through February 28, guests can enjoy:

  • $20 afternoon lift tickets, valid for beginner terrain.
  • $20 ski and snowboard rentals.
  • Beginner lifts will remain open until 5 p.m. for an extra hour of skiing.
  • Free Tips and Tricks lessons from Snowbowlโ€™s Ski School at the Big Spruce area.

The savings are significant for familiesโ€”a family of four can enjoy lift tickets, lessons, and rentals for less than $250โ€”less than the cost of a single lift ticket at some resorts.

Arizona Snowbowl offers the largest beginner terrain in the Southwest. For the 2024-25 season, the resort debuted the Aspen Chairlift, a new fixed-grip quad lift. The lift connects four new beginner trailsโ€”Giddy Up, Chipmunk Chase, Lupine Lane, and Jackrabbitโ€”an ideal environment for first-timers to learn and progress.
